Tasting note : soft on the palate, vanilla tones from the cask,weighty malt flavours and a lasting finish.

« can something this delicate really be 140 proof ?? An aroma that drifts like butterflies with no shortage of nectar to feed on ; the strands of honey are both deft and deep and balance well with the honeycomb ; dulcet rye tones soar on the spirity thermals and oak offers a soft, vanilla-rich cladding. Simply the stuff of whiskey dreams,… begins sweet but nosedives into something surprisingly dry, mildy compromising the balance for a while until it rediscovers its equilibrium with a wave or ten of Belgian chocolate ; returns to its brillance once more with those cocoa notes now harmonising with the returning rye ; just so long and the late arrival of an orangerey, citrus thread doesn’t hurt at all ; in fact the finish is near perfection : just one moment or two’s madness, where the plot is lost may have cost this one World Whiskyof the Year. Anotherstaggering Stagg , a serious improvement on the previous bottling and collector’s must have.
